The Ultimate Guide to A Salon Treatment For Dry Feet

The way your skin looks and feels has an effect on your self esteem and confidence. How about you do something about it? Treat your skin and let those feet out to play. Below is my list of the best saloon feet treatment for dry skin.

Mediheel by Elim Treatment

This Treatment is as an answer to a dry skin's person prayers. It is a scientifically proven medical pedicure that will melt away all the dry skin on your feet and leave you looking and feeling fabulous as ever. It is a South African product but they have a UK distributor.

The first procedure is applying the Tonic which will melt away all the dry skin which then will be removed by a spatula.

When the first part is done with your feet will be neutralized so as to return your skin to it's normal ph balance. This second procedure is what makes the Mediheel Treatment unique from all other treatments and regular pedicure. Tell me if your skin gets neutralized after your pedicure or any treatment rather? If your skin is not neutralized you will still have dry skin appearing, your skin will dry out eventually.

After the skin has returned to it’s normal ph balance the Elim Mediheel Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) Exfoliant is applied. The acids help in regenerating your skin and increase product absorption leaving your skin feeling silky smooth.

Now that your feet are already smooth they will then be soaked in the Elim Mediheel Spa Additive. This foot soak contains anti-fungal and anti-bacterial ingredients.  It also contains rosemary and tea tree which boosts blood circulation and give that maximum spa relaxation and pampering experience.

Then last but not least comes the Elim Mediheel Foot Protector. It is a non greasy cream containing Vitamin B5, C and E which relives dry skin and protects the skin from sun burn giving it that ultimate glow.

Treatment for dry feet

Footlogix treatment

This is a pediceutical treatment that was founded by Katherine von Gavel based on her extensive experience in pharmaceuticals for over 35 years around the world to cater for different feet problems including dry skin, callused skin, toe nail fungus, sweaty feet, peeling skin, tired legs, cold feet and even cracked heels. Footlogix Treatment is safe for diabetics,  contains no heavy oils, fragrances or alcohol infuses moisture deep into the skin delivering fast long lasting results for soft beautiful feet.

Firstly, your feet are soaked in Footlogix Foot Soak which softens dry skin, exfoliated using the Footlogix Exfoliating Seaweed Scrub, and further softened with Footlogix callus Softener.

At this point the dry skin on your feet will already be soft. A Footlogix sterilized metal file is then used to remove the calluses by filing.

Now that the dry skin has been removed and your feet feel very light and smooth the Footlogix DD Cream Mousse will be applied on your skin. This mousse is an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti- ageing non greasy moisturizer for feet which offers double defense foot care protection designed to lock in moisture into the skin.

The last step will be a deep heavenly massage using the Footlogix Massage Lotion.

How to treat dry feet

Paraffin Treatment

The Paraffin Wax is a pretty basic treatment which comes in colorless form and can have different scented oils added to it.

This treatment is best for cracked heels, as it allows your inner skin to heal first. It is also provides relief from arthritis, sore joints or sore muscles,  tired legs as it increases blood circulation.

The process of performing this treatment differs from salon to salon.

However, just like the Medicure Treatment the process of soaking, exfoliating and scrubbing is the same. Then your feet are dipped into the wax and covered with the disposable towels so as to keep the warmness longer.

After 10 minutes the wax is removed and your feet are then massaged using a foot cream.

The best thing about Paraffin Treatment is that it helps create moisture in your skin long after the treatment is complete.

Smooth skin

Verdict

Personally I prefer the Mediheel Treatment by Elim because the dry skin gets softened and is removed by a spatula unlike the Footlogix treatment whereby I need to endure the aggressive process of having my feet filed. As for the Paraffin Treatment, of course it is perfect but I don’t do it alone especially if I have dry skin on my heels. I want to see the dry skin being scrapped off first then I perform the treatment just to lock in that moisture.

And hey, your pedicurist will recommend which home care kit you need after your treatment so as to maintain the beautiful smooth skin otherwise your feet will continue having dry skin resurfacing every now and then.
